The human element is essential to being a sustainable company.

It is not enough to use ecologically friendly materials, we also have to ensure the sustainability of the human resources involved in the production process. This is why all our collections are produced under ethical working conditions, with fair wages in Poland. This ensures a more holistic approach to sustainability, not one only focused on the environmental aspect. #DAMUR follows sustainable and upcycling design practices, conveying them into everyday life as an impact-focused fashion business. For us, sustainability is not only about the production cycle or the design.

It is about building high-quality pieces that last longer and can be reused and resold. In 2020, our goal was to mostly use deadstock material by 2022. Currently, our last collection had 34/36 looks made from those. A year from now, we vow to only use deadstock or upcycled fabrics, by finding an even more creative approach to turning textile “waste” into high-end streetwear pieces.

In Damur’s collections, almost no new fabrics are created. Most items come from deadstock material, some are upcycled from old clothes donated by customers. Currently, all of our designs are created digitally in a paperless format. Our next goal is to fully digitize the sampling process, ensuring the minimum possible waste is generated.
